Birmingham has seen many events launched in the city, from wine festivals to festive ice rinks, organised in conjunction with Birmingham City Council. Summer 2010 promises to be hot, hot, hot, if we are to believe the weathermen. Imagine that, Mediterranean Brum which seems to only happen during World Cup year. Ok, so England didn’t even make the quarters and Andy Murray lost in straight sets but let’s not give up hope good times are on their way.

Advertising Creative Director, Larry Logan and Events Coordinator, Marcia Blackwood thought it would be a sin to let Med Brum pass us by and brought Bloomango to the Council’s attention, but what is it?

This summer Bloomango Events have teamed up with Birmingham City Council to bring Bloomango Skatefest 2010 to the heart of the Midlands. A fun-filled, temporary roller rink with a timetable to match is coming to Birmingham’s Centenary Square later this summer. These events attract attendances with a combined total of around 500,000 people from the city and the wider region.

The Bloomango Skatefest aims to attract people of all ages, from varied backgrounds with dedicated entertainment such as specialised music days, themed days, top DJs, dance, culture, live broadcasts and more.

Partnered eateries and bars from around the square and Broad Street will be on hand to provide energy sapped skaters with much needed refreshments, while DJs from local radio and all genres will spice up those lazy summer days.

The Bloomango Skatefest event takes place from August 14th to August 28th.

A team of dedicated designers, builders, organisers and managers will transform Centenary Square into the epicentre of Bloomango events. Sponsors are invited to share in the success of this two week, eagerly anticipated celebration of Birmingham through a menu of options
